A veterinary clinic in Britain performed surgery to help a dog that was born with too many legs and left in a parking lot. The puppy was found in Wales in September, the BBC and PA news agency reported on Saturday. The dog was taken in by an animal protection organization and a foster family.
The dog was named “Ariel” – after the classic Disney film because her partially fused hind legs resembled a mermaid’s tail. The extra legs have now been removed during surgery.
“We are delighted that such an amazing dog has recovered so well from surgery,” the clinic director at Langford Vets Small Animal Referral Hospital told the PA news agency. According to reports from the BBC and Sky News, several thousand pounds in donations have been raised for the animal, which had six legs and other deformities. (SDA)
