American is suddenly a star: now the speedster is talking about her mugshot

“This woman looks like a supermodel” or “Who gave me her Insta name?” were just some of the responses. With her mugshot, as police photos are called in the US, American Veronica Koval (27) became an internet sensation overnight.

The woman from the American state of Virginia was pulled out of traffic after speeding and arrested by the police. Although the incident took place in May 2023, Koval’s story is only now making headlines. The reason: In December last year, the Instagram account ‘Mugshawtys’ published the police photo of the young woman, after which it went viral.

In an interview with ’20 Minutes’, the American comments on speeding and her new fame. The past few days have been a bit “crazy and turbulent,” Koval said.

She was traveling ‘significantly too fast’.

Apparently the American still seems a bit confused by all the fuss. She wrote in the comments of her mugshot that she was on her way to work on the day of the speeding. In an interview with ’20 Minutes’ she now claims that she was heading for holiday.

“There is no excuse for my lawn. “But I was driving on an empty road in a rural part of Virginia,” the American said. The police officer flashed her because she was driving significantly too fast.

She was subsequently fined several hundred dollars and given community service. She also had to surrender her driver’s license and spend a night in jail. “The other prisoners were very nice, and the staff at the prison were great too,” the 27-year-old said.

Had to search for Switzerland on the internet

The famous mugshot was taken behind bars. As Koval reports, she gained hundreds of new followers overnight. “I used to have 1,500 followers on Instagram, but now I have almost 5,000 because of all the posts.” As a look at her profile shows, the young woman has now crossed the 5,000 mark.

Despite her new fame, she regrets driving too fast. “I don’t recommend anyone race just so the potential mugshot can go viral,” Koval said.

She also does not want to profit from her fame. “I get a lot of reactions and compliments, but I’m not sure if I’m suitable for the modeling world.” Instead, she wants to focus on her current job as a nurse at a Botox clinic.

When the journalist asked if she knew Switzerland before the Mugshot report, she replied: “To be honest, I had to Google it a bit. The landscape in Switzerland looks beautiful, the people seem incredible, and the country is definitely on my bucket list now.” (dzc)
