American Sierra Diller (28) suffered from unbearable pain in her right foot for seventeen years. She never knew why she was in so much pain. Instead, she was passed from one doctor to another, with no results. People Magazine reports this.
The story began in 2006. A teacher from Dillers saw the girl limping through the school hallways and then informed her parents. Finally, they took their daughter to the doctor.
The doctors found what they were looking for and discovered a hemangioma that was benign yet noticeably large. This is an overgrowth of blood vessels, which usually appears as red lumps in the skin, but can also occur in other parts of the body. The doctors concluded that Diller must have been born with it.
However, the doctors could do nothing about it. “The pain mainly occurred when I walked, stood, or just did anything with my feet,” Diller told People Magazine. «My foot hurt so much! I even told the doctors, ‘Don’t touch my foot. I’m going to kick you in the face.”
With no signs of improvement over the years, she had to learn to live with the pain. “My foot bones shifted around the tumor, so I could barely walk. And the tumor itself immediately filled with blood if it was not stopped by a compress. That was very unpleasant.”
In 2008 there was a brief hope for the American. She underwent surgery for the first time, but without success. But she didn’t want to give up. Diller now faced a veritable marathon of operations.
In 2009, doctors looked at her again and tried to destroy the blood vessels. Sclerotherapy followed ten years later. The last surgical intervention since then took place in 2022, but this also led to nothing.
Since all these measures were unsuccessful and Diller continued to feel unbearable pain in her right foot, she decided to take a radical step last year. “I joked with my doctors and said, ‘Can’t we just cut it off?'” The doctors initially thought the statement was a joke. But when they realized that the young woman was extremely serious, they agreed.
On December 8 last year, Diller finally went under the knife. Shortly before, she posted a few videos of her foot on Tiktok, which had now been wildly painted with all kinds of farewell greetings. “Bye bitch!” (in German “Bye bitch!”) was written on the bottom of the base.
For Diller, the procedure ultimately proves to be the long-awaited salvation. “I have some pain every now and then, but honestly it’s nothing compared to what I had before my foot was cut.”
Although she is now missing a foot, Diller will be able to walk without any problems in the future. The 28-year-old had a prosthesis made in early January. Diller now spends a lot of time with her physical therapist, who teaches her how to stand and walk correctly. From now on completely without pain. (ced)
