On New Year’s Eve, the 10-year-old son and 13-year-old daughter of steakhouse heiress Christina Block (49, Block House) were forcibly kidnapped in Denmark. Several men stormed a restaurant where the children and their father were staying, beat the Dane and took the children in two cars.
The police started a manhunt. The German police were also alerted because the kidnapping took place close to the border. The license plates were also German. But initially the researchers were in the dark. It was initially unclear where the children were and who kidnapped them.
Until the Hamburg public prosecutor finally came forward on Tuesday. A spokeswoman said: “Law enforcement authorities currently believe the children are in the care of their mother.” The spokeswoman further clarified: “There are currently no concrete indications that there is a danger to the children.”
As “Bild” reports, the researchers’ suspicions eventually came true. The children are with us, the mother said on Tuesday through the spokeswoman of a steak company. ‘The children are doing well. “I ask for your understanding that I am not making any further statements at this time, primarily out of concern for the well-being of my children,” the spokeswoman said in the statement.
The background to the drama is a custody dispute. According to a ruling by a Hamburg court, this is legally the responsibility of Christina Block, who lives in Hamburg, but at least two of the four children live with their father in Denmark. Block said in an interview with the newspaper that she felt alienated from the family and only saw her children sporadically.
In 2021, the father allegedly did not return the two children after a visit, and the police were also called in. At the time, Block spoke of revenge, while the father spoke of psychological violence by his mother.
While the German judiciary has transferred custody of the mother, the Danish judiciary appears to be giving more direction to the father, as the children apparently want to remain with him. For this reason, the Danish family court has not yet enforced the judgment from Hamburg.
Now Christina Block has probably resorted to violent methods to enforce her rights. Can she even count on the support of the German authorities? In the ‘Bild’ the German police gave the rather strange impression after such an action that Block did not have to worry that the children would be taken from her again. After all, she has custody.
