While ordinary people fear for the lives of their relatives at the front, the rich and famous in Moscow are letting it get spoiled – and are now getting paid for it.

Nastya Ivleeva, the organizer of Moscow’s ‘Almost Naked’ party at the Mutabor nightclub, was now on trial. She was sentenced to a fine of 100,000 rubles, the equivalent of 940 francs. By organizing the party she violated public order.

The guests appeared scantily clad

Some guests showed up at the December 20 party almost completely naked, wearing transparent tops or pants. The images went viral and caused a furore among Russian proponents of the war and among Kremlin supporters.

Rapper Vacio, who appeared to be wearing only a sock, must spend 15 days in prison and pay a fine of more than 1,800 francs.

For organizer Iwleewa, who has already pledged to donate ticket proceeds to charity, things could get even more expensive: a class action lawsuit has been filed against her in court, demanding she pay the equivalent of almost R10 million donates.

The party already had consequences for the participating celebrities: advertising contracts were canceled and concerts cancelled. In addition, several stars – including one of Russia’s most successful singers, Filipp Kirkorov (56) – were axed from the pre-recorded TV New Year’s Eve shows.

Police are currently investigating whether illegal drugs were involved at the party and whether there were violations of LGBTQ regulations. LGBTQ movements are banned by law in Russia and subject to severe penalties. (neo)
