Tragic accident in Palermo (I) on Christmas Eve. A man (†38) fell from the sixth floor of a high building and injured himself so badly that he died. This is reported by ‘Live Sicilia’, among others.
According to media reports, the man tried to save his son (4). He had previously leaned over the balcony railing. While trying to hold the boy, both fell over the railing and landed on the roof of a restaurant.
Father and son were taken to hospital after the fall. While the boy was said to be out of danger with minor injuries, the father died from his serious injuries. According to a report, the man is said to have taught as a professor at the University of Palermo.
The child is now an orphan; according to the media report, the university professor’s wife died about a year ago. (zis)
