British Home Secretary apologizes for joke: American series star Charlie Sheen attacked his home – police arrest neighbor

British Home Secretary James Cleverly has apologized for making a joke about knockout falls on the sidelines of a reception. According to a report in the Sunday Mirror newspaper, he allegedly said this to female guests that it wasn’t really illegal if there was just ‘a little bit’ of Rohypnol in your drink every night.

A spokesman for Cleverly said the Home Secretary had made a “clearly ironic joke” in a private conversation that was always taken as such, for which he apologised.

Cleverly has been heading the Ministry of the Interior for several weeks, was previously Minister of Foreign Affairs and is married. Shortly before the comment, he had announced new measures against the abuse of knockout drops. ‘Spiking’ means that perpetrators put drugs in their victims’ drinks, for example so they can be raped later.

Women’s rights organizations sharply criticized Cleverly’s statements. The Fawcett Society said it was disgusting that Cleverly, as minister responsible for women’s safety, thought something as heinous as drugging women was laughable.
