“They fill their backpacks and bags and leave without paying for the goods.” The allegations that an operator of the Edeka Regensburg made this week against asylum seekers from the region are serious.
In a Facebook post he expressed his anger about asylum seekers who regularly steal from the store. The campaign did not seem to be well received by everyone: the branch manager is now being threatened. This is reported by “Bild” and refers to another Facebook post from the operator.
In it he writes: “Unfortunately, I am currently being destroyed by ultra-left people, and I have already been threatened via Instagram.” Far-left people would accuse him of inciting hatred against refugees; others, on the other hand, wrote to him that he should expect “consequences.”
The extreme right, in turn, would use the stories from his post for their own benefit. The fact that both parties are now trying to use the story for their own benefit is not in his interest at all. ‘I am neither right nor left. “I have just reported the facts,” writes the branch manager.
Because he does not want to offer anyone a platform, he has now deleted the post. “For me it was purely about the thefts,” he told “Bild”. He also emphasizes once again that he has nothing against foreigners and that he himself has a migration background.
In addition to the negative messages, he also received a lot of encouragement. There were many store managers among them who would feel exactly the same way. “They called me from all over Bavaria, Nuremberg and the Munich area, they think the same, these thefts are a plague.”
Unbelievable: he has filed twenty reports since the summer. At the newspaper’s request, Regensburg police confirmed the thefts. A third of the cases involve Tunisians with an asylum background. (dzc)
