Surveillance cameras from Edeka Regensburg show how the brazen thieves struck.

“We absolutely do not want to spread xenophobic content, but it is no longer bearable!!!” The sentence comes from a Facebook post by Edeka from Regensburg in East Germany. It’s easy to see that the owners of the store, which is located in the Donau shopping center, are pissed.

The reason: asylum residents who steal from their families – again and again. The store is now sounding the alarm. “Every day men dressed in black come to us, all from the asylum seeker centers in Regensburg. Fill your backpacks and bags and exit through the entrance without paying for the goods,” the post continues.

“They will ruin our economy”

Recently, one of the thieves ended up in their net. They then handed him over to the police. The daring of the thieves is hard to believe: “The man is said to have stolen only 124.00 euros from us and his backpack still contained items from Saturnus and Douglas.”

According to the police, the number of shoplifting cases has increased since last autumn, reports the “Mittelbayerische Zeitung”. About a third of the suspects come from Tunisia.

It is clear to the Edeka operators: something has to change. Not only should security guards and investigators be involved in the team, but cameras should also be installed. If we don’t take action against these villains, everything will soon become even more expensive ‘for the honest people’. “They will ruin our economy!” Edeka operators warn.

At the end, the author of the article makes it clear that he is not xenophobic, but that the post represents a cry for help: “I am a businessman myself with a migrant background, I employ people from different countries and have no prejudices against foreigners .” (dzc)
