A pensioner from Britain chased a man on a scooter because he had bought the last of his pastries.

A British pensioner is apparently a big fan of steak patties. But the meat-filled puff pastries are in high demand. As a viral video on social media shows, another man grabbed the last pie from a bakery in Bideford, England. This made the pensioner angry.

The video shows him getting into an argument with the man who, according to witnesses, bought the last pastry. The pensioner holds his walking stick at the ready as if it could strike at any moment. When the man runs away, the pensioner follows him on a mobility scooter.

During his pursuit, the pensioner meets another man who says something to him. The pensioner walks over to him, raises his stick and causes the man to fall over. The man tries to cling to a shield, but falls to the ground. A passerby comes to help and tries to take the pensioner’s stick – in vain. She shouts: «How dare you! You just knocked him over! Stop it!” Then she helps the fallen man up.

“He can get angry”

Employees at the bakery confirmed to the Daily Mail that the pensioner is a regular customer. The landlord of a nearby café also says: “He can get angry. If something doesn’t go his way, he makes sure he gets his way. But you don’t expect that from someone who rides an electric scooter.”

Police also learned about the incident through the video. According to British media, the pensioner was taken to the station. When the officers arrived, the victims were already gone. The pensioner’s scooter was driven to the station by a police officer, according to a photo released by the police. The authority jokes: “Although we are an equal opportunities employer, we currently have no plans to launch electric scooter patrols.” (Mrs)
