Another knife attack has caused uproar in France. Accordingly, in the city of Rennes, a twelve-year-old took a knife out of her bag in the middle of English class and attacked the teacher with it.

According to prosecutors, the girl threatened to kill the teacher and any students who did not like her.

Girls can be held for up to 24 hours

The teacher ordered the other students out of the classroom and ran away from the student, who was overwhelmed by other staff.

There is no evidence for the student’s radicalization, says prosecutor Philippe Astruc. Last week the teacher confiscated the student’s cell phone in class. It is being investigated whether this incident may have anything to do with the crime. The underage girl could be held by the police for a maximum of 24 hours. We are still waiting for the results of a psychiatric examination.
