Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi rebels have threatened an attack today every ship that goes to Israelregardless of their nationality, amid escalating attacks and hijackings of commercial ships in the Red Sea by rebels.
The Houthi military spokesman, Yahya Sarea, indicated in a statement that the rebels “will prevent the passage of ships of any nationality heading towards the Zionist entity” and “will become a legitimate target” unless they bring food and medicine to the Gaza Strip.
“For the safety of maritime navigation, we warn all ships and companies not to do business with Israeli ports,” the spokesman warned.
Likewise, he confirmed the “full commitment” of the Shia movement “to continue global trade movement through the Red and Arabian seas for all ships and all countries, except for ships connected to Israel or carrying goods to Israeli ports.
Israel is fighting hard with Hamas in the north of Gaza and continues its offensive in the south
The Israeli army is engaged in heavy fighting with the Islamist group Hamas in the north of Gaza, while continuing its offensive in the south of the Palestinian Strip.
Israeli forces reported this Saturday intense clashes in Gaza City, in the northern Palestinian enclave, where their troops confronted a “terrorist cell” in the area of a school in the Shejaiya district.
“There was an exchange of fire in which all the terrorists in the cell were killed,” and soldiers located AK-47 rifles, grenades and ammunition “inside the classrooms,” according to a military statement.
Likewise, Israeli naval troops attacked infrastructure and vessels “used for terrorist purposes,” the statement said.
In addition, more than a hundred people died and more than two hundred were injured in the last few hours in different parts of Gaza due to attacks by the Israeli army, the Ministry of Health in the Hamas-controlled Strip reported.
While fighting in northern Gaza, the Israeli military is trying to control Khan Yunis in the south, which it considers a Hamas “stronghold” in the Strip, in its offensive against the Islamist group.
