An unknown man reportedly fired shots at a Las Vegas university. The American media CNN reported this on Wednesday evening, citing the local police. Accordingly, police are on duty on the University of Nevada campus.

An exact number of victims is not yet known. However, the local police write via X (formerly Twitter) that there appear to be several victims.

Police also said a suspect had been found; he is now deceased. The exact circumstances are not yet known. The police had previously reported that they had arrested a suspect. It is also not known whether it is the same deceased suspect.

Officials asked residents not to enter the campus and to avoid the area. (cpf)
