In Germany, police evacuate two ICE trains because they are too full Renowned environmental activist released after six years in prison in Iran

The long-distance trains in Munich cannot leave because they are too full: the situation only improves when the police arrive.

After heavy snowfall this weekend, trains at Munich’s main station had to be evacuated due to overcrowding. A spokeswoman for the German Federal Police confirmed on Monday that police had been called to assist in two cases:

“Due to the tense situation, the federal police were also on site to intervene if there were any disputes.”

Two ICE trains scheduled to leave Munich around lunchtime were hit. “Both trains could not leave Munich’s main station due to overcrowding. “Deutsche Bahn security staff therefore decided to let travelers disembark,” the federal police said.

“Our colleagues were on site and mainly supported communication and tried to make it clear to travelers that they had to get out. No measures were taken by the federal police.”
