This revelation would be more than explosive for the United Nations. Has a Palestinian teacher from the UN aid agency UNRWA violated almost all the values that the United Nations stands for? This question is raised by information from Israeli journalist Almog Boker, who refers to a hostage.
Accordingly, a teacher teaching at a UN school in the Palestinian territories is said to have locked an Israeli hostage, who has since been released, in his attic for more than 50 days. The UN teacher acted in the service of Hamas.
But that’s not all: the UN teacher is said to have mistreated the hostage. The Israeli boy reportedly received little food and no medical care at all. The teacher is said to be the father of ten children, whom he lovingly cared for during the time he held the Israeli child captive.
The Almog report, which is causing a stir in Israel, cannot yet be independently verified. It would not be the first time that employees of the UN aid organization have attracted attention because of their proximity to Hamas.
The NGO ‘UN Watch’ counted 133 cases in which hate propaganda against Jews and Israel was taught in UNRWA schools. After October 7, at least twenty UNRWA teachers are said to have applauded Hamas’s massacres on social media.
UNRWA is largely funded by donations from governments around the world and some private actors. It employs 30,000 people in the Palestinian territories and runs more than 500 schools there. (no)
