China is asking the world for peace over the pneumonia outbreak

China assured today that “no reason to worry” due to the increasing outbreak of respiratory infections that are ravaging this Asian country and for which, according to Beijing, “known pathogens” are responsible.

He Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin At the press conference, he pointed out that the Chinese authorities “maintained communication with the World Health Organization” about the situation in China.

“I can assure you of that Traveling and doing business in China is safe and there is nothing to worry about“, said the spokesperson of the MFA, who on previous occasions refused to comment on this topic and referred it to the competent health organizations.

Last week, members of the Chinese Health Commission held a video conference meeting with World Health Organization (WHO) officials, where Chinese representatives presented data on the surveillance and detection of pathogenic agents that cause respiratory diseases, as well as diagnostics and treatment protocols.

The announcement came after the WHO asked China for detailed information on the recent increase cases of respiratory diseases and outbreaks of pneumonia in children.

According to the commission, the outbreak is due to “known pathogens”, such as seasonal influenzaalong with rhinovirus, mycoplasma pneumonia, respiratory syncytial virus and adenovirus, and according to local experts, it will reach its peak in a week or two.

Chinese authorities Last week they asked for the strengthening of primary health care and coordination between hospitals in dealing with the increase in cases of respiratory infections.

The agency issued these recommendations after Chinese health authorities reported an increase in the country’s incidence of respiratory diseases, something that partly attributed to the lifting of preventive measures against covid-19 at the beginning of this year.
