Crime is not just a male problem. Some women also have a lot on their plate. This is evident from, among other things, Europol’s Most Wanted list. The criminal gallery available on the Internet is updated regularly. There are currently several women working. Blick shows Europe’s most notorious criminals and explains why they are wanted.

The Swede Tania Gomez (31) has been on the run since March 2021. She is wanted for serious drug offenses and serious money laundering. Gomez is a member of a criminal organization in Stockholm. The 31-year-old is said to have transported large amounts of drugs and money throughout Europe. She was also the head of an international animal rescue organization. According to Europol, she was also involved in the stray animal trade and was likely part of an illegal animal trafficking network. During a raid in Stockholm, police found bags full of banknotes. Total value: more than one million euros. Gomez then went into hiding.

In August 2019, Marzia Marimar Calleja Maatouk (23) from Malta was arrested by the police. She was only 19 years old at the time. She had large quantities of drugs with her that could not have been intended solely for her own use. In September 2019, she was charged with drug trafficking. In July 2023, he was sentenced to 15 months in prison. She also had to pay court costs and a fine totaling 3,500 euros. Maatouk appealed the verdict – and ran away. Investigators suspect that the 23-year-old is on the run with her husband Jomic Calleja Maatouk (38). He is also wanted because he wanted to obtain synthetic drugs and materials for making explosives on the Darknet.

Slovakian Eva Zámečníková (42) hired a hitman to kill her husband in January 2014. According to Europol, the motive was that she wanted the shared house for herself. The florist promised a convicted criminal 50,000 euros for the murder. But then several attempts to kill him failed – and the hitman finally turned to the police as a key witness. Zámečníková “didn’t want to feed her husband,” he explained. Zámečníková denied the accusations in court. Nevertheless, she was sentenced to eight years in prison. Because Zámečníková was pregnant, she was briefly released in August 2014 to give birth to the child. She took this opportunity to escape and went into hiding.

Marina Kramberger (33) from Slovenia shamelessly abuses the gullibility of others. She faces a prison sentence for several fraud crimes. “Under false pretenses, she lures people into transferring large sums of money to her, offering her shelter or renting out cars for long periods of time, for which she does not pay the rental costs,” Europol writes. Kramberger has been on the run since July 20, 2021. According to Europol, she committed further crimes even while on the run. The fraudster travels often and is most likely with another woman. (no)
