A massacre occurred at the Supernova rave festival in the southern Israeli desert on October 7, following the Hamas attack. Several hundred people were murdered and dozens were deported to the Gaza Strip.
Now new details are coming to light: according to them, Hamas’ attack on the music festival was not planned at all. This is reported by Israeli media, citing police and security sources.
The Hamas terrorists are said to have known nothing of the event and not to have planned a corresponding attack. On the contrary, they discovered the event not far from Kibbutz Re’ through the drones and the skydivers. According to reports, the attack was a random attack.
The “growing view” that the festival was not targeted by Hamas fighters from the start is based on police investigations and interrogations of captured Hamas members.
As the Israeli newspaper Haaretz writes, maps of the destinations were also found in the bodies of the slain Hamas members, and no maps showing the location of the festival were found.
In addition, the festival was originally scheduled for Thursday and Friday. Saturday was not added to the program until Tuesday the week of the attack. As the report states, the attack could not have been planned well in advance.
Moreover, most festival visitors managed to escape in time. “The vast majority of visitors were able to flee four minutes after the rocket attack,” Haaretz wrote, citing a police source.
However, these are not the only findings of the investigation: according to the report, Israel is also responsible for some of the deaths caused by the festival. Accordingly, an Israeli military helicopter opened fire on the attackers, hitting some ravers.
“Investigation into the incident has shown that a [israelischer Militär-]“The attack helicopter that arrived on the scene from the Ramat David base fired at the terrorists and apparently also hit some revelers,” the newspaper quoted an unnamed police officer as saying.
The police report also shows that the death toll from the attack has risen from 270 to 364, including seventeen police officers. The number of kidnapped festival visitors was put at 40. (dzc)
