How Madonna drove her fans crazy in Cologne Yes, comparisons to fascism are frowned upon – but Trump’s comments on Veterans Day…

Madonna performed in Germany as part of her “The Celebration” tour. Her fans are mad at her now – they are literally going crazy on social media.

It is by no means self-evident that Madonna is currently back on stage. A few months ago, the singer suffered from a serious bacterial infection and even ended up in intensive care. The start of her ‘The Celebration’ tour was therefore postponed.

On November 15, the superstar made her first stop in Germany as part of the tour – Madonna will even perform for the second time in Cologne on Thursday. However, at the first concert the audience was rudely awakened. Many expressed their anger on social media that same evening.

Madonna makes fans wait in Cologne

Fans were allowed into the Lanxess Arena from 6:30 PM and the show was scheduled to start at 8:30 PM. Madonna didn’t show up until shortly after 10 p.m.

Understandably, this caused frustration. In addition, a 20-hour strike by train drivers’ union GDL began on Wednesday evening, resulting in restrictions on train traffic. Many fans were already having difficulty planning their return journey home or to the hotel, although the railway tried to find alternative offers.

Fans are angry with Madonna

A person complains about X:

A “Is there any chance you can still get on stage, or should I ask for a refund?” the user asks passive-aggressively.

And this fan apparently finally had enough on Wednesday night. The question here is: did Madonna take a nap or was she just rude?

Madonna: Being late on stage is a tradition

In any case, the fact is: When it finally started a few minutes after 10 p.m., at least not many people had left the room early out of frustration, the location was well filled. The singer started with “Nothing Real Matters”.

It is not unusual for Madonna to keep her audience waiting at concerts. At the shows in recent weeks she was always alone on stage between 9:30 PM and 10:00 PM. Perhaps the word had not yet reached Cologne.

After all, she delivers over two hours and presents her biggest hits from four decades such as “Like a Prayer” and “Papa Don’t Preach”. The European leg of ‘The Celebration’ tour ends in London on December 6, after which the superstar heads to North America. The concert series will ultimately end with four performances in Mexico in April 2024.
