Woman complains about fat neighbors on American flight

The flight lasted three hours and was torture according to American Sydney Watson. Because: She had to sit between two fat people. During the flight, the woman complained on Twitter and posted two photos. She was ‘trapped’ and, moreover, was constantly touched.

She continued to express her anger at the uncomfortable flight on October 11. “If fat people want to be fat, fine. But it’s a different matter if I’m stuck between you for three hours with your arm rollers on my body.”

She doesn’t care if that sounds mean. But she can’t even fold down the armrests on both sides because there is no space. “I’m tired of pretending that obesity at this level is normal. I can assure you it’s not.”

Her claim: If you need a seatbelt extension, “you’re too fat for an airplane”. She was especially furious that she offered to switch places between the two, who are believed to be siblings. As a result, they would have sat next to each other and not in the middle. The flight attendants didn’t do anything either, they just looked at her with pity.

“Our passengers are all different sizes and shapes”

With her freak on Twitter, Watson caused a stir and received criticism. “There are many ways to deal with this other than publicly disgracing people,” read one comment. However, there was also encouragement. The seats on planes are too small and cramped anyway, and it’s a cheek that the two siblings didn’t want to swap places, some wrote under Watson’s tweet.

The airline eventually commented on the matter. “Our passengers are all different sizes and shapes. We are sorry that you were not comfortable during your flight,” American Airlines wrote on its Twitter account.

Shortly thereafter, however, another email followed, which Watson made public. The airline apologized for the incident. “We regret that the comfort of your flight has been compromised by crossing another customer’s seat.” A seat change would certainly have been the best solution.

As compensation Watson received a voucher worth 150 francs. “We can understand your disappointment that the situation has not been resolved to your satisfaction,” the email continued. But Watson was hardly satisfied with it. She’d rather give the money to someone who needs a gym membership. (lrc)
