On Monday, rumors circulated on various social media about an alleged shooting at Triesen high school in the Principality of Liechtenstein. The state police investigation has now identified a juvenile suspected of making similar statements to third parties.
The minor suspect is known to the state police due to previous incidents. Further investigations involving the public prosecutor’s office are currently underway, as the principality’s state police wrote on Tuesday.
The Liechtenstein State Police also writes that unsecured information should not be spread via social media, as happened in this case. “This is extremely problematic and can lead to great uncertainty and fear among the population,” the police said. Instead, information should be passed on to the police immediately. (zis)
