For the Jew haters of this world, October 7 was just the starting signal. Since the Hamas massacre in Israel, anti-Semitic aggression has exploded in many countries.
In Tunisia, an angry mob burned down a synagogue, and in the Russian Republic of Dagestan, hundreds of violent men stormed an airport looking for Jewish passengers after the arrival of a plane from Tel Aviv.
Even in the center of Europe, hatred cannot be overlooked.
In Berlin, unknown perpetrators committed an arson attack on a synagogue, Jewish graves at Vienna’s Central Cemetery were defaced with swastikas and a ceremonial hall was set on fire.
This action had a particularly threatening effect on the Jewish community: in Berlin, houses with Jewish residents were marked with a Star of David, the symbol of Judaism and the State of Israel.
The Israeli embassy wrote:
But the phenomenon was not limited to the German capital. In Paris, police have counted 60 cases in recent days of houses marked with a Star of David.
Last week, police caught two suspected perpetrators red-handed: a 33-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman from Moldova allegedly marked a house wall in the 10th arrondissement with a Star of David, police reported. radio station “Europe 1”. Now the investigators reveal a detail that arouses suspicion towards Moscow: the two Moldovans allegedly stated that they had acted on behalf of a Russian.
The Public Prosecution Service has not yet provided any further details. It is also unclear whether the couple from Moldova also marked the other houses in Paris with the Star of David.
The investigating state security service has not yet announced whether the cases in Berlin are linked to Russia. But could the Kremlin have an interest in fueling hatred of Europe’s Jews?
The Kremlin has distanced itself from the anti-Semitic gang in Dagestan, blaming it on Ukraine and the West. But according to an analysis by the Atlantic Council, Putin himself has repeatedly used anti-Semitic stereotypes – especially since the attack on Ukraine. Anti-Semitism has also recently spread in Russia, where homes of Jewish residents are apparently marked with Stars of David, as this video shows:

What is certain is that Russia is benefiting from the escalation of the Middle East conflict and global unrest. It diverts attention from Russia’s war against Ukraine, ties up Western military resources, and ideologically divides Ukraine’s supporters.
Moreover, the Russian government has openly opposed Israel, for example by welcoming a Hamas delegation to the Kremlin less than three weeks after the massacre that left 1,400 dead.
It has only now become known that a Russian anti-aircraft system is on its way from Syria to Hezbollah in Lebanon; the terrorist group in the service of Iran could open a second front against Israel at any time.
Against this background, it does not seem inconceivable that Russian agents would also stir up hatred against Jews in Europe.
