The US Department of Justice continues its investigation against Tesla and its CEO Elon Musk. In a recent statement, the electric car manufacturer announced that the Justice Department had requested documents from Tesla. This investigation is just one of many investigations launched against the company in recent months.
The U.S. Department of Justice investigation focuses on two major areas.
This isn’t the first time Tesla and Elon Musk have been targeted by authorities. Further investigations have become known in recent months. The Securities and Exchange Commission and the Department of Justice investigated allegations about the use of company funds for a private residence of Elon Musk and safety concerns related to Tesla’s Autopilot system.
In addition, allegations of misleading advertising have been made in connection with the Autopilot driver assistance system, which are already the subject of criminal investigation.
