Hamas is hiding among the Palestinian population in the Gaza Strip. For the terrorists, civilians are human shields with which they can exert pressure on the Israeli army. The Israeli army has declared war on Hamas, but citizens are making eliminating the terrorist group a monumental task. Meanwhile, Hamas is prepared to sacrifice millions of civilians, Khaled Meshaal (67), one of the Hamas leaders, reveals indirectly in an interview.
Dubai broadcaster Al-Arabiya connected Mescha live for an interview. When moderator Rasha Nabil asks the Hamas leader about the situation for Gazans, he is initially evasive, claiming that the Oct. 7 massacre was a “legitimate resistance” supported by the Palestinian population.
The Palestinian population is being terrorized by Hamas. When Israel urged civilians in northern Gaza to move south because attacks were imminent, Hamas set up roadblocks to prevent the population from leaving. Not all Palestinians support Hamas, but there is no way to defend themselves. Access to information is also extremely limited. Israel therefore repeatedly releases leaflets across the regions in Gaza.
He describes the fact that the West views Hamas’ attacks as aggression against the Israeli population as propaganda. Hamas is concerned about the “liberation of the Palestinians,” he explains. For example, Meshaal uses the comparison that Russia also suffered 30 million deaths in the fight against the Nazis in the Second World War. And says that he is willing to sacrifice millions of Palestinians for this war.
“This shows that Hamas is not interested in giving Palestinians a better life. For them, the Palestinians are just a means to an end and create images that are as cruel as possible,” Aras-Nathan Keul of the German-Israeli Association (DIG) told “Bild”.
