Another of Trump’s co-suspects pleads guilty in Georgia. What the Muslim countries in the Middle East think about Hamas

Another co-suspect in the election interference trial against former US President Donald Trump in the state of Georgia is cooperating with the Public Prosecution Service. Attorney Kenneth Chesebro pleaded guilty in an Atlanta court on Friday to conspiracy to file false documents. According to the media, after reaching an agreement with the Public Prosecution Service, he has also committed himself to testifying truthfully against his co-suspects. Just a day earlier, Trump supporter Sidney Powell had pleaded guilty in the trial and also agreed to cooperate with prosecutors.

For Trump, the guilty pleas are a major legal setback, but for the prosecution they are a great success. According to American media, the court sentenced Chesebro to a suspended prison sentence of several years. In addition, a fine and community service are payable. Chesebro is the third person to make a deal with prosecutors in the case to avoid a trial and possible prison time. The Washington Post calls him the “legal architect” of the plan to overturn the election results in Georgia in favor of Trump.

Trump was charged in the state along with 18 other defendants — including Chesebro and Powell — for his efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election in the state. The Republican is also being charged at the federal level in a separate case for his efforts to subsequently overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election.

Trump lost the election to Democrat Joe Biden, also in Georgia. But to this day he refuses to admit defeat. Instead, Trump claims he was robbed of a victory by massive voter fraud. After the 2020 election, the Republican then tried to change the election results in various ways – including by pressuring political leaders at the federal level and in states like Georgia.
