They warn of new chaos if Hamas and Putin do not pay for actions

President of United States, Joe Bidenwarned this Thursday that if the Islamist group Hamas and Russian leader Vladimir Putinthey don’t pay for the pain they caused Israel and Ukrainethat is, more “chaos” and “destruction” could be unleashed on the world.

“History has taught us that when terrorists don’t pay for their terror and dictators don’t face the price of their aggression, they cause more chaos, death and destruction,” Biden said in a speech from the Oval Office of the White House.

Biden used the speech as an opportunity to try to convince the American people that the US must play a key role in defending democracies around the world, an idea that falls under the “American exceptionalism” that guides the president’s foreign policy.

In fact, in his speech he reiterated the opinion that the world is at a “turning point” in which the struggle is being waged between the world’s democracies, led by the United States, and the defenders of the liberal international order established after World War IIcompared to authoritarian models like China and Russia.

“Hamas and Putin pose different threats, but they share something in common: they both want to completely destroy their neighboring democracies,” the US leader said.

In this regard, Biden confirmed that the purpose of the existence of Hamas, which the US considers a terrorist group, is the destruction of the State of Israel and said: “Hamas does not represent the Palestinian people. Hamas uses Palestinian civilians as human shields, and innocent Palestinian families suffer greatly as a result.”

Meanwhile, Biden noted that Putin is denying Ukraine the right to exist as an independent state and warned that if the West stops supporting Kiev, the conflict could spread to other parts of Europe, including allies ON THAT like Poland.

“We will defend every inch of NATO,” Biden reaffirmed, using words he has previously used to show his support for the alliance’s principle of collective defense, in which an attack on one member is considered an attack on all.

Addressing Americans watching at home, Biden explained in plain language that while these conflicts seem “very far away,” they are relevant as allies and especially America’s adversaries watch to see how the nation will react.

“We will not allow terrorists like Hamas and tyrants like Putin to succeed. I refuse to let that happen. In times like these we must remember who we are. We are the United States of America and there is nothing that is beyond our reach if we do not work together.”finished the president.

His speech lasted about 15 minutes and was broadcast live by the country’s main television networks.

American presidents often give speeches like this when they want to convey a sense of seriousness and urgency to the nation. This is the second speech in The Oval Office that Biden has offered since taking office in 2021, following another he offered in June on the debt ceiling.
