The American president travels to Israel on Wednesday: fears of a major war are growing

Since October 7, 2023, following the brutal attack by Hamas terrorists on Israeli civilians, Israel has been bombing cities in the Gaza Strip.

Israel’s remaining time clock in Tehran’s Palestine Square is ticking. During the digital countdown in the Red Light District on October 7, 2023, there are still 6,185 days until the “annihilation of the Jewish people”. Thousands of Iranians marched into the capital’s city center that Saturday, chanting about Hamas’ brutal killings of defenseless Israeli civilians.

The mullahs’ regime will likely follow events in Israel with great interest. The Jewish state wants to free 199 hostages from the clutches of Hamas, destroy the terrorist group and bombs the Gaza Strip. The electricity and water supplies have now been stopped. The Israeli army also plans to invade with ground troops and is calling on people to seek safety in the south of the restricted area. All this creates terrible images that fuel hatred against Jews in the Arab world and worldwide. “Iran has a clear advantage in this conflict,” said Christian Mölling (50), deputy director of the research institute of the German Council for Foreign Relations (DGAP), in an interview with Blick. “The war is delaying Saudi Arabia’s rapprochement with Israel. That would have been a threat to the Islamic Republic.”

Iran and the “Axis of Resistance”

Iran is Israel’s greatest political enemy. Tehran provides the terrorist organization in the Gaza Strip with weapons, money and know-how. For more than forty years, Iran has militarily supported the Islamist Shiite militia Hezbollah in Lebanon, which has repeatedly shelled northern Israel. The Revolutionary Guards of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei (84) have long mobilized pro-Iranian militias in Syria and Iraq, and have signed treaties with the Houthi rebels in Yemen and terrorist groups in Afghanistan and Pakistan. The so-called ‘Axis of Resistance’, created by Iran, could well wage a four-front war against Israel.

“You have to be prepared for all eventualities”

Alarm bells are ringing in the Middle East. The US fears an escalation of the war at a time when Russia is not only threatening the survival of Ukraine, North Korea continues to arm itself with nuclear weapons and China is conducting maneuvers to rehearse an invasion of Taiwan. Due to the tense situation, American President Joe Biden (80) will also travel to Israel on Wednesday, Haaretz News reports.

Since the Hamas attack, the Pentagon has deployed two aircraft carriers, a guided-missile cruiser, two destroyers and an air squadron to the eastern Mediterranean to deter enemies like Iran. White House national security adviser Jack Sullivan, 53, told US broadcaster CBS: “We cannot rule out the possibility that Iran will directly interfere in some way.” You have to be prepared for all eventualities, Sullivan continued. The British also send Royal Navy ships to the coast of Israel.

Christian Mölling does not believe that Iran will intervene in the conflict in this situation. “He would fight not only Israel, but also the US and Britain. “At this point, his military objectives would be difficult to achieve.” Walter Posch (56) of the Vienna State Defense Academy does not expect this either. ‘Propaganda is one thing, war is another. Iran knows the horrors of war. He is a master at provoking, but always remains below the threshold,” the Iran expert told Blick.

Hezbollah’s hatred of Israel: what makes the war in the Middle East dangerous for us

“In the region, everyone has the right to pull the trigger.”

Meanwhile, the Iranian Foreign Minister continues to rattle his sabers. Hossein Amir-Abdollahian (59) tells Al-Jazeera that they will not stand idly by while Israel fights Hamas and Hezbollah. He threatened that if Israel continued attacks on the defenseless population of the Gaza Strip, he could not guarantee that the conflict would escalate. In the region everyone has their hand on the trigger.
