Numerous music lovers traveled to southern Israel to celebrate together at the festival near Kibbutz Re’im. Several DJs provided the atmosphere and music – including the Swiss Raffael Willi with the stage name “Jumpstreet”. He was the fourth act to appear on the Nova Stage early Saturday morning and played his music until about 4:30 am. A few hours later the party turned into a bloodbath.
“I was very lucky that I returned to Tel Aviv right after my performance, before the attack started,” the Swiss DJ told Blick. «At five o’clock I went back to the hotel. There I suddenly heard rockets.”
Willi was even very lucky: at half past six in the morning, just two hours after his performance, Hamas terrorists launched the attack on the raver festival. At least 260 visitors were killed and several civilians were kidnapped.
The DJ from Lucerne heard of the bad news a little later and went to the airport. “My plane to Istanbul left seven hours late,” says Willi. This despite the fact that many airlines had already stopped flying to Israel. “I spent a short night there and flew to Basel in the morning. I have been very lucky.”

He continued: “I am shocked and sympathize with all my friends who have lost loved ones in this senseless attack on innocent people. A tragedy for our peaceful community.”
