Typhoon “Koinu” heads towards southern China – nearly 400 injured in Taiwan. No formal decision on Taurus – the night update without photos

Following the devastation caused by Typhoon ‘Koinu’ in the island state of Taiwan, the Chinese Special Administrative Region of Hong Kong has warned of strong winds and high waves. “Koinu has become slightly stronger in recent hours,” the weather authority in the financial metropolis said on Friday. People should stay away from the coast and expect heavy rain in the coming days. In the morning (local time), meteorologists located “Koinu” about 350 kilometers east of Hong Kong.

The population in Guangdong province around Hong Kong must also prepare for the consequences of “Koinu”. Some long-distance train connections were canceled and no local ferries were running. “Koinu” is the 14th typhoon of this year’s Pacific season. Meteorologists expect it to become weaker.

The tropical cyclone moved westward from Taiwan during the night. ‘Koinu’ wreaked havoc in the island republic on Thursday. Nearly 400 people were injured and one woman died as a result of a storm accident, the emergency center reported on Friday. Authorities reported a total of almost 3,800 accidents from the different regions. The power went out in approximately 390,000 households.
