Because his Russian-captured tank was having problems, the Ukrainian officer nicknamed “Kochevnik” called in Russian support.

The Ukrainian armed forces have managed to capture about two hundred Russian tanks in the last twenty months of war. However, the T-72B3 tanks are newer models from the Russian arms company Uralvagonzavod, with which the Ukrainians are not familiar. This is reported by the business magazine Forbes.

When a Ukrainian tank driver nicknamed “Kochevnik” encountered problems with his tank, he initially tried to solve them using local expertise – without success. So the Ukrainian called the support team of the Russian defense company. And actually the technical hotline was able to help him! The Ukrainians later posted the video of his call on YouTube.

Tank probably processed incorrectly

Although Kochevnik’s main goal with his call is to make fun of the Russians, his tank is actually having problems. The 45-ton vehicle was spewing oil and its compressors were not working. In addition, the gun’s electronic rotation failed repeatedly, so the three-man crew had to resort to the hand crank.

The problem with the tank does not seem to be so easy to solve: the Russian on the other end of the line suspects that the tank has been incorrectly processed in the weapons factory due to the numerous malfunctions.

Ukrainians must describe problems on WhatsApp

The unsuspecting Russian continues to be fooled by the Ukrainian officer. He promises to discuss the problems with the design bureau and also contact the engine manufacturer directly.

This really seems to get the Ukrainian going: he also makes contact with a director of the arms company. He asks Kotschevnik to describe the malfunctions of his tank in detail via WhatsApp. Finally, the Ukrainian officer gives up his disguise and reveals that they had already captured the defective tank late last year. He ends the conversation with a laugh. (gs)
