Lina (15) wanted to take the train to Strasbourg on Saturday. But on the way to the station she disappeared. It is unclear what happened to her.

There has been no trace of 15-year-old Lina since Saturday. Hundreds of volunteers are working with local authorities to search for the teenager. But despite days of investigation, calling witnesses and intensive searches, there is no trace of the Frenchwoman.

Saturday September 23, 11am

Lina makes her way from her village of Plaine (F) with 250 inhabitants to the train station in Saint-Blaise-la-Roche in the Breuschtal, about three kilometers away. She leaves her house around 11 a.m. to take the train to Strasbourg, about 60 kilometers north. She wants to meet her boyfriend there. On the way to the train station, she sends him a message – her last sign of life yet.

Saturday, 11:15 am – 11:30 am

As Kaverne prosecutor Aline Cléro reports, two witnesses claim to have seen Lina on the way to the train station around 11:15 and 11:30 am. As things stand, they are the last people to see the teen before she disappeared.

Saturday, 11:22 am

At 11:22 am, Lina’s mobile phone stops sending signals. It remains unclear whether it was deliberately switched off, broke down or whether the phone’s battery was empty. According to French authorities, the mobile phone was not found.

Saturday, 12:53 pm

Lina’s train arrives in Strasbourg at 12:53, but without the teenager. According to the initial findings of the gendarmerie in Schirmeck, Lisa most likely never came on board. Because there are no surveillance cameras at the Saint-Blaise-la-Roche train station, investigators cannot provide definitive information. An escape cannot be ruled out, even if there is no evidence for it.

Saturday, 2:15 p.m

Lina’s friend is already waiting at the Strasbourg train station. Then he notices that his girlfriend was not on the train. Unable to reach the teenager, he alerts her mother. She, in turn, calls the police around 2:15 p.m. bee

The gendarmerie will launch a call for witnesses on Sunday. Lina is about 1.60 m tall, has medium-length blonde hair and recently wore a gray dress with a white down jacket. Anyone who can provide information about her disappearance is asked to contact the gendarmerie in Schirmeck.

Monday September 25

Lina has been missing for two days. A large-scale search is now underway. More than 100 people participate. Despite the active support of volunteers, the search remains unsuccessful.

Tuesday September 26

The search continues at 10am. About 380 volunteers and 35 emergency services are looking for the 15-year-old between Alaine and Saint-Blaise-la-Roche. Sniffer dogs are also used.

Divided into groups, the volunteers comb the surrounding fields, slopes and forest areas. The gendarmerie stopped searching around 1:30 p.m. The volunteers are sent home.

“The investigations and investigations are being actively pursued,” prosecutor Aline Clérot said in a press release. On the fourth day of Lina’s disappearance, two bodies of water are searched. A helicopter with thermal imaging cameras and seven divers are used.

The divers search the two Breux ponds, which are bordered by a cycle path that Lina should have walked on Saturday. Searches are also underway near the municipality of Rothau. Fifteen emergency services are involved in the operation. Once again the search fails. It is rented in the evenings.

Thursday September 28

The search continues. Two clearing operations will be carried out in the area of the teenager’s last known route. 80 emergency services are being mobilized for this. The Breux ponds will also be examined on Thursday. It remains unclear whether the operation will yield new information. (Mrs)
