Astronaut Frank Rubio returns to Earth with a record

Salvadoran American astronaut Frank Rubio and cosmonauts Sergey Prokopyev and Dmitri Petelin returned to Earth after 371 days spent on the International Space Station (ISS), making the Hispanic the NASA astronaut with the most days in space.
The Russian Soyuz MS-23 spacecraft landed at a distance of 148 kilometers southeast of the city of Zhezkazgan, in the Kazakh steppe, almost four hours after detaching from the Russian Prichal module of the ISS.
According to the Russian space agency Roscosmos, 200 military personnel, Mi8 helicopters, An-12 and An-26 aircraft, as well as PEM-1 and PEM rescue vehicles participated in the operation to find and extract the crew from the descent capsule.
The first to leave the Soyuz was Prokopjev, followed by Rubio, who left the capsule with a big smile and a thumbs up, and Petelin.
Rubio said it was “good to be home,” back on Earth after spending a record 371 continuous days on the International Space Station (ISS).
With a smile and a thumbs up, the astronaut told the team that he was trying to remove himself in the sweat of his face that “it was good”.
He then told the representative OUR who asked him questions: “it’s good to be home.”
Unlike his two companions, cosmonauts Sergey Prokopyev and Dmitri Petelin, with whom he spent more than a year in space and with whom he returned to Earth, he did not want to eat fruit, according to images broadcast live by NASA.
As a gift and a memory of his long-term mission on the ISS, he received a traditional Russian matryoshka, that colorful wooden figure that keeps less inside.
His character appears on the first doll. Prokopjev and Petelin received the same gift.
After sitting for about 30 minutes, the three crew members were taken to theirs seats in a medical tent in the Kazakh steppe.
