Incae will continue its work on the Costa Rica campus

Institute Central American Business Administration (Incae) expressed regret at the termination of its legal status in Nicaragua and stated that it will continue its work on the campus in Costa Rica.
Incae, classified in various rankings as one of the most important international business schools, has released a statement in which it reports “with deep sadness” that its legal status has been revoked by order of the Government of Nicaragua.
In this way, Incae joins the list of organizations, media and universities that have been closed by the Government of Nicaragua in the context of the sociopolitical crisis that began in 2018 with popular protests against President Daniel Ortega.
Incae indicated that the decision was published in the official gazette on Monday Nicaraguan newspaper It influences work at the Francisco de Sol campus, on the outskirts of Managua, which he describes as “an essential part of our history and the cradle of our institution.”
“Almost 60 years after its foundation, we deeply regret this situation because during all these decades INCAE has been faithful to its mission of actively contributing to the sustainable development of Nicaragua and the region,” said a statement signed by the president of the board Roberto Artavia Loría and rector Enrique Bolaños Abaunza.
Incae explained that more than 4,000 people have graduated from the campus in Nicaragua.
“INCAE is a business school recognized and internationally ranked among the best in the world, with operations in several countries in the region, and will continue its purpose of transforming lives for a better future in Latin America from its campus in Costa Rica“, they concluded from that institution.
The government of Nicaragua canceled through the Ministry of the Interior Incas and ordered the confiscation of his movable and immovable propertyunder the argument that he did not comply with the laws that regulate it.
In 2019, an unsuccessful negotiation table was held at the headquarters of the Incas in Nicaragua, which sought a solution to the crisis that the country has been going through since April 2018, in which the Vatican and the General Secretariat of the OAS participated.
Incae, registered in the Ministry of the Interior since January 1, 2009, was dissolved due to “violation of obligations” before the Main Directorate for Registration and Control of Non-Profit Organizations of that department, according to Ministerial Agreement No. 106 -2023, published in the Official Gazette of La Gaceta.
The Ministry of the Interior, which is in charge of the control and registration of non-governmental organizations, indicated that they had dissolved Incae for not submitting financial reports for 2020, 2021 and 2022, also because they discovered “inconsistencies” in the financial reports for the periods 2015-2019. .
