Looking too deep into the glass at Oktoberfest: man stumbles to the first aid post – and orders a beer

At the Oktoberfest in Munich (D) there is beer almost everywhere, but not quite everywhere. A young man (25) who had looked too deeply into the glass had to learn this last Tuesday.

The beer flows freely in the festival tents on the Theresienwiese. The result: some visitors overestimate how much alcohol they can tolerate. This leads to calls for police and medical personnel. The rescuers sometimes experience strange moments.

Slammed against glass

The 25-year-old was on his way to medical services in the early evening hours. But he was spotted before he even reached the station, the Aicher Ambulanz wrote in a press release. The paramedics noted “that he bravely focused his eyes on the open entrance door, but ultimately missed the target and staggered roughly into a pane of glass.”

You will then be contacted by an ambulance employee. The 25-year-old claims he has not yet had a sip of alcohol. Since he is finally at Oktoberfest, he wanted to order his “first mass”.

Apparently the claim that the man was sober was not very credible. The Aicher Ambulance analyzed: “His clothing and his minimal fine motor skills gave us significant doubts about his story.”

Ultimately, the thirsty man was convicted of lying. A breath alcohol test, which was only successful on the third attempt, revealed a result of 2.59 per mille. Instead of receiving the beer he ordered, the 25-year-old had to go to the Heia: “The young man slept off his drunkenness for the next few hours, well cared for by our surveillance team, and was then released back into real life.” (bab )
