Violent riots took place on the sidelines of an Eritrea event in Stuttgart on Saturday, resulting in 228 arrests.
As SWR now reports, the city has canceled another such meeting in Eritrea this Saturday.
Last Saturday’s riots were caused by a meeting of Eritrean associations with about 80 to 90 participants who, according to the police, are close to the dictatorial regime in Africa. Several hundred opponents of the event gathered in the city to protest and attacked participants and police forces. 26 police officers were injured in the riots. Among the suspected opponents of the regime in Eritrea, 63 were from Switzerland. Stuttgart is one of many similar disputes – including in Switzerland.
