They attack the police station in Cauca with explosives

An explosive attack was carried out in the morning this Wednesday against the police station in the town of Timba, in the turbulent department of Cauca (southwest), where other attacks on the army were also carried out during the early hours of the morning.
This was reported by the governor of Cauca, Elías Larrahondo, who assured the Blu Radio station that an “explosive device” was placed near “the police station and that the explosive wave ends up affecting everything around it, including the school that is relatively close, also the hospital.”
Likewise, Larrahondo said that the police station in Santander de Quilichao and the military base in Suárez were harassed this Wednesday, and it is not yet known how many were injured.
Precisely in Suárez, il Government and General Staff (EMC)the biggest dissident of the demobilized FARC guerrillas, announced on Tuesday that he would set the table for peace talks on October 8 in the city of Tibú, in the turbulent region of Catatumbo, when a bilateral ceasefire would also begin. It will last up to 10 months.
All this is happening in a context where the EMC columns in Cauca have stepped up their offensives, and the violence is causing fear in entire communities.
Last week, dissidents attacked police stations in the municipalities of Buenos Aires, Suárez, Mondomo, Cajibío and Jambaló, where they even shot at military helicopters.
In addition to FARC dissidents, the region is home to the National Liberation Army (ELN), a group with which the government has a bilateral ceasefire in force and is negotiating peace with.
So far, two women have been confirmed dead passing through the sector when the car bomb was activated.
One of them was a teacher, who was going to teach. Five other people were injured in this attack.
