The share of foreign tourists in EU countries increased to 46 percent.

According to the statistics agency Eurostat, the number of overnight stays booked in tourist accommodation has risen to almost 1.2 billion, 0.9 percent more than in the same period in 2019.

Compared to the same period last year, the number of overnight stays was almost 13 percent higher. The share of foreign tourists in EU countries rose to 46 percent, including visitors from other Member States and third countries.

In Germany, the number of overnight stays booked increased slightly in July to 57.1 million. However, this was still 2.9 percent less than in 2019 and, in particular, the number of foreign tourists in Germany remains lower than before the corona pandemic.
