Trump is seeking the removal of a judge from his case in Washington

Former US President Donald Trump (2017-2021) this Monday filed a request that the judge who will try him Washington for election interference, Tanya Chutkan, get off the case.

“Now is not the time for the American people to question the impartiality of a judge. Instead, Court should ensure that the public remains with unshakable confidence in his decisions and commitment to a fair and impartial trial,” he said in his submission explaining his request.

Trump called for judge he recused himself from the case to preserve “both impartiality and the appearance of impartiality” and demanded that his claim be dealt with without delay.

The former president was charged in four criminal proceedings: two for interfering in the elections Washington and Georgia, the other in Florida for taking classified documents from the White House when he left office and the New York district for making irregular payments to porn actress Stormy Daniels to hush up an “affair” they had in the past during the 2016 campaign.
