Mysterious discovery on Lake Constance: empty boat drifts Lindau Kremlin propagandist: “The most difficult and hardest war in Russian history”

On Lake Constance near Lindau, the police, fire brigade, water rescue services and THW troops have been looking for a missing sailor since Wednesday afternoon. Witnesses had previously heard calls for help and eventually saw an abandoned boat southwest of the Powder Tower. First the “Schwäbische Zeitung” reported about the incident.

“We suspect an elderly gentleman was alone on the boat,” Gerd Drexler, head of Lindau’s water police, said on Wednesday. According to the portal “all-in.de”, it is now clear that the missing person is a 93-year-old who was apparently alone on his way from Überlinger See to Hard in Austria.

According to the water rescue service, the conditions on the boat indicated that an accident had occurred. The engine is said to have been running and a life jacket was also found on board.

A rescue helicopter and a drone from the fire brigade were used to search for the sailor until the evening hours. A mobile sonar device was also used, according to the report. Due to the darkness, the search had to be called off at around 9 p.m. after about six hours.

In total, about a hundred emergency services – including from Austria – were involved in the operation on Wednesday. The search will continue on Thursday, a police spokesman told the Allgäuer Zeitung. The abandoned sailboat was towed into Lindau harbour.
