The right-wing American moderator Tucker Carlson (54) is known for spreading conspiracy theories and false messages. He did that for years on a well-regarded evening program on Fox News TV, until he was fired some time ago. Now Carlson has a show on Twitter — and gave a stage to a questionable figure there on Wednesday. The video has already been viewed more than 66 million times. Larry Sinclair (62), a convicted fraudster, was allowed to spread his baseless claims in an interview that he used cocaine in Chicago in 1999 with former US President Barack Obama (62) and had oral sex twice.
As if that weren’t enough, Sinclair is adamant that Obama had sex with men and smoked crack. “My feeling is that Barack Obama is definitely bi,” he said on the show.
Sinclair’s claims are not new. He first voiced it over 15 years ago. To date, he has not provided any evidence to support the allegations.
There is probably a financial interest behind the whole thing: In 2009, the South Carolina-born man published a book entitled: “Barack Obama: Cocaine, Sex, Lies & Murder?” (Barack Obama: Cocaine, sex, lies and murder?).
Not only was Sinclair convicted of fraud, he was also charged with criminal forgery and robbery, and served prison terms in Arizona, Florida and Colorado. Today he lives in Mexico.
Twitter boss Elon Musk (52) celebrates Carlson’s show again and again – and promotes it among his 155 million followers. The billionaire also ranted in the commentary section of Larry Sinclair’s episode, calling for a meme about the show.
The response from the Twitter community to the interview was mixed. Some commentators believed Sinclair’s confused statements, while others remained skeptical, citing his criminal history as cause for doubt. Still others complied with Musk’s request for memes.
