Sancho, who arrived in Thailand last Sunday, said it was the last time he would speak and told reporters waiting outside the prison that he would appreciate them leaving.

Regular visits from family and friends at Samui prison usually last 15 minutes, but today Sancho was able to spend more time with his son because he was accompanied by lawyers, who have more time to meet with prisoners.

After the visit, attorney Marcos Garcia Montes, who traveled with Sancho from Spain, told reporters that a working group had already been formed for the case.

Despite the regulations requiring a lawyer to represent Daniel Sancho is of Thai nationality, García Montes explained that it is normal for a team from Spain to cooperate in the process.

The lawyer emphasized that he would not disclose any details of the conversation with Sancho and emphasized that the goal of his team is to obtain a court decision that foresees the transfer of prisoners between Thailand and Spain, so that the young man can return to his country within four years. .

According to an agreement between the two countries, Spanish prisoners sentenced in Thailand can request to be transferred to a prison in Spain after serving at least four years of their sentence, as long as it is not a death sentence.

“Our goal, not a strategy, is a prison sentence that will probably be in Spain in four years.”

After completing the first round of visits and proceedings in Thailand, both the lawyer and Sancho plan to return to Spain this Saturday, García Montes revealed.
