13-year-old dies in an accident in Germany: “Aktenzeichen XY” reopens the search for the dead driver

It was an accident that still shakes the hearts of Germany to this day: On July 1, 2018, there was a terrible crash on the Autobahn in Homburg in Saarland, Germany, claiming a young human life. To this day, there is no trace of who caused the accident.

Relatives have now increased the reward for tips. And: The case will be reopened on Wednesday evening in the German program “Aktenzeichen XY … Unsolved” on ZDF.

Who killed the 13-year-old?

Tom S.* († 13) rode the Harley-Davidson with his father Jan S.* (then 37), as “Bild” writes. The two are on the highway when they are suddenly hit by a car. The motorcycle ends up on the road and catches fire. The father is seriously injured, the teenager dies on the spot and the person who caused the accident runs away.

For five years, the next of kin have been desperate for information about the speeder. Because: So far it is only clear that it is a white Mercedes – possibly an E-Class. Despite more than 350 tips from the public and more than 500 cars checked, the case remains unsolved.

To finally put an end to the horror, the family has now increased the reward for information from 10,000 euros to 20,000 euros.

Hired hypnotist for witnesses

The grieving relatives even hired a hypnotist to question a 74-year-old witness about the tragedy. Although the pensioner remembers the car well, he can’t give the crucial clue: the license plate number. (lia)
