New witness with spicy information: German authorities are dealing with alleged gang rape

In a hotel room in Mallorca, a night happened last week that will probably have serious consequences. Five young men from Dortmund (D) are said to have raped a young woman (18) from Hanover.

Detectives have been working for a week to find out the exact circumstances. Now the German authorities have also got involved, Spiegel magazine writes.

So far, the room in which the gruesome scenes are said to have taken place has been investigated. In addition, five German holidaymakers – all between 21 and 23 years old – have been stuck in Mallorca since last week.

The case is also making waves in Germany. The public prosecutor’s office of the city of Hagen in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia has now also been called in: “We will start an investigation,” said a spokesman.

However, the public prosecutor’s office is primarily dependent on information from the Spanish authorities. “We are following the news and have now contacted the Spanish authorities,” says senior prosecutor Dr. Pauli to the «image». “So far we have not received a response to our request.”

The five men in custody are charged with either raping the 18-year-old tourist on the Spanish Mediterranean island or standing by and doing nothing. However, versions of what happened that night differ.

Now a man has reported to the German police who would have been detained for twelve hours together with the suspects. He claims to have overheard the five men discussing the night. They would be desperate and very surprised at the situation.
