Suspected jihadists kill ten civilians in Burkina Faso Setback for Trump: trial for abuse not opened – possible charges

Suspected jihadists have killed at least ten civilians in two attacks in western Burkina Faso. In Nouna, the capital of Kossi province, local residents said local residents were killed late Monday evening in grenade attacks. That same evening, according to a local official, at least four people were killed in the village of Tondoura, 400 kilometers south near the Ivory Coast (Ivory Coast) border, when “terrorists” attacked the village.

For months Nouna has been a haven for thousands of people fleeing repeated attacks by jihadists. Security circles confirmed the attack on the city to AFP news agency. Accordingly, “missile parts” were found in the area.

In Tondoura, villagers tried to fend off the attackers with weapons, but were “quickly overrun,” the official said.

Regular attacks since 2015

Since 2015, Burkina Faso has seen regular armed attacks by jihadist groups, some of which collaborate with the al-Qaeda terror network and the Islamic State (IS) jihadist militia. According to non-governmental organizations, more than 10,000 people, including civilians and militants, were killed and two million people were forced to flee.
