Russia announced today suspension of the agreement on grain export via the Black Sea from Ukrainian ports, after checking that obligations with the Russian side have not been fulfilled.
“The grain agreement has been suspended,” Kremlin spokesman Dimitri Peskov said at his daily telephone news conference.
The Eurasian giant has been denouncing for months that its exports, the facilitation of which was agreed with the United Nations and Turkey in parallel with the pact on the release of Ukrainian grain from the Black Sea ports, are facing serious difficulties, especially because side effects of sanctions imposed on him by the West because of the aggression against Ukraine.
The Kremlin is demanding free access to ports and the unblocking of accounts and assets abroad of Russian companies linked to the production and transport of food and fertilizers, among other things.
