London police see no evidence of crime in the recent BBC TV presenter scandal. Scotland Yard announced this on Wednesday evening. The prominent newsreader, who was initially not named, was accused of having received intimate photos of an initially minor person against payment of large sums. This was reported by the tabloid “Sun”, citing the parents. However, a lawyer later contradicted on behalf of the alleged victim, describing the allegations as “nonsense”.

The pressure on the BBC to make the name of the presenter public grew day by day, including from its own ranks. Further accusations from young adults who stated that they had been in contact with the moderator via dating apps followed in media reports. However, there were no reports or tips to the police, the police statement said.

Meanwhile, the wife of the BBC presenter, one of the UK’s most prominent news anchors, has come out publicly. The reason for the move was the concern for his mental health and the protection of her children after “five extremely difficult days for our family”.
