Angelika H. (31) raced through Santo Stefano di Cadore.

She hit the gas and destroyed a family. Angelika H.* (31) killed three people last Wednesday in the northern Italian municipality of Santo Stefano di Cadore. The grandmother, the father and a two-year-old boy died in the accident.

Now new video recordings have appeared on which Angelika H. rushes through the city. The Italian news agency Ansa published images from a surveillance camera on Sunday. In it you see the Audi A3 of the Germans, which races past at a hellish speed.

Moments later, a dull bang is heard. As the “image” writes, it should be about the crash of the car with a street lamp and a wooden fence. After the bang, there is silence in the video.

Was Angelika H. distracted by the mobile phone?

As an Italian detective told “Bild”, Angelika H. is believed to have been driving about 90 km/h. The maximum speed allowed on the route through the quiet mountain town is 50 km/h.

However, the background of the horror accident remains unclear. The first reports on Wednesday suggested that H. may have been distracted by her mobile phone. As an eyewitness reported to Ansa, a dispute could also have been the reason for the run-off. One person claims to have seen Angelika H. get into her car after a fierce argument and drive away.

According to Ansa, the 31-year-old spoke very carefully during an initial interrogation. She was unemployed and ‘only here because I’m traveling to Italy’, was H.’s first statement to the detectives. Numerous blankets and clothing found in the car suggested that Angelika H. probably lived in the car for several days.

She is in a women’s prison on an island

According to the press agency, H. was already noticed at the end of May. At that time she got into a fight with a mobile phone salesman in Bolzano in South Tyrol. The police arrived and found a hammer in her backpack. She was charged with carrying dangerous items.

According to “Bild”, Angelika H. is currently in the women’s prison on the island of Giudecca off Venice. She is due to appear in court on Monday. He decides whether H. remains in custody. According to the newspaper, she faces up to 18 years in prison if convicted – and possibly even more if her intentions are proven. (zis)
