After the “deeply disturbing allegations” became known, Culture Minister Lucy Frazer had previously urged BBC Director-General Tim Davie to take further steps in a meeting. Family complained in May

In its current statement, the BBC now confirmed it “first heard of a complaint in May”.

Former Home Secretary and MP for the ruling Conservative Party, Priti Patel, called for “a full and transparent investigation” into the matter. Opposition Labor MP Rachel Reeves told Sky News on Sunday that “the BBC, as well as other broadcasters, have to pull themselves together because they seem to be swinging from one scandal to another”.
