Robles opposes the delivery of cluster bombs from the USA to Ukraine: “They cannot be delivered under any circumstances”

Minister of Defense, Daisy Robles, has assured that he does not share the decision of the United States to send cluster bombs in Ukraineafter US President Joe Biden announced that he would deliver them in a new package of military aid to that country.

“Spain, based on the firm commitment it has with Ukraine, also has a firm commitment that certain weapons and bombs cannot be delivered under any circumstances,” Robles said in statements to the media at a PSOE event in Madrid.

Asked about the controversial shipment, since it is a decision that contradicts the warnings of the United Nations and is contrary to the international convention that prohibits the use of this type of weapon, the defense minister highlighted Spain’s “clear and resounding” position against this action.
