Tonight there was also an attack in Dnieper in which at least two people were killed

Ten people died in total as a result of the Russian Kalibr cruise missile attack that hit the residential district of Lviv, in western Ukraine, at dawn on Thursday, according to the data presented by the authorities today.

“We have found ten bodies,” Lviv Mayor Andrí Sadovi wrote on his Telegram, having completed the rescue operation among the ruins. The last body found, he explained, was female.

Immediately before that, Sadovi himself specified that “the street (…) will be closed until the emergency services remove the rubble and remove all the dead”, before stating that around 60 apartments and 50 cars were damaged in the attack.

After this information, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky published a video of the attack showing “the consequences of the night attack by Russian terrorists”. “Unfortunately, there are dead and wounded (…) There will surely be an answer to the enemy. Strong,” he said.

Likewise, the United Nations humanitarian coordinator for Ukraine, Denise Brown, condemned the attack and stressed that “humanitarian law is clear: civilians and civilian infrastructure must be protected,” according to a statement issued by her office.

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) joined the condemnations, which pointed out that the attack was damaged a “historical building” in the city and warned that this is a violation of the Convention on the Protection of Cultural Property in the event of an armed conflict.

For its part, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Thursday that it carried out “concentrated bombing” against “temporary deployment points” of the Ukrainian army and “foreign mercenaries” in Lviv, adding that among the targets attacked were “storage sites Western-made armored vehicles.” All set goals have been achieved,” he concluded.

attack on the Dnieper

Last night, Russia also attacked the Dnieper region, on the banks of the Dnieper River, with at least six kamikaze Shahed drones. The drones were intercepted by the Ukrainian defense and caused the death of two civilians when debris fell on the car they were riding in.

“At night, the enemy attacked the Shahedim region. The defense shot down six drones,” Sergi Lisak, head of the Dnieper Province Military Administration, wrote on his Telegram account.

Lisak explained that the “remains” of one of the drones “fell into a car that was driving on the highway.” «Unfortunately, two men passed away“, he added.

According to the Ukrainian Air Force, its defenses shot down 12 Shahed drones launched by Russia on Ukrainian territory last night.
